Not sure about an older pup? Aren't they sweet? All of our pups are
guaranteed to be healthy. When they leave here, they have been wormed and well-started on a high-quality premium food to ensure
their continued health & well-being. They are raised in the house, socialized thoroughly by us and our children &
grandchildren - we like to call them pre-spoiled!
Our pups are all AKC registerable, from excellent lineage.
Pups to be used in breeding programs may be available - call us to ask for more information.
We specialize
in Silver Poodles - my first poodley love. If you'd like more information on pedigrees, pricing, down payments,
etc. please send us an email or call us at the numbers below.

| Silver pup at 12 weeks of age. |
So many decisions to make...but one of the hardest decisions is sometimes - "Shall we have a girl or boy
puppy?" Many people feel that girls make better pets, However, I am here to tell you that some of the sweetest, most devoted
pets I have ever seen have been neutered boys. "Intact males" - boys that have not been neutered, often display all the nasty
territorial behavior that people dislike - leg-lifting, agression, etc. which makes them slightly more difficult to handle
as family pets. However, it has been my experience that if you would only have your little boy neutered at 5 months or so,
you will eliminate those issues 95% of the time. Those bad behaviors are instinctive canine behaviors designed to let everyone
know that this yard, car, house or whatever belongs only to HIM! But, these behaviors don't occur until the pup nears breeding
age, when his hormones begin to kick in. Neutering eliminates the production of testosterone, the primary hormonal trouble-maker.
So, feel free to choose a little boy for your new family member - just be sure to have him neutered as soon as possible!

Should you buy a tiny pup or an older pup?
We usually have pups in several different age brackets available, so the question of age comes up frequently.
First, we never let a pup leave here until it is 8 weeks old. That is the absolute youngest that I feel that they can go and
still feel confident that they are eating properly and are healthy. Usually, these pups are family pets where size is not
an issue, since it is difficult to determine size at this age.
At 9 to 12 weeks, your pup may be shipped, depending
on her size and temperament. A larger, more outgoing pup could handle the stress of shipping at 9 weeks. A smaller, more withdrawn
pup may not fare as well. We ship out of Roanoke International via Delta Dash Pets First. We have had excellent success
with them - no lost, injured or frightened pups! 8
- 12 week old puppies are sweet, cuddly, fluffy and adorable, but you have to remember that they are tiny babies. They aren't
ready to learn house manners consistently and they just are not ready to grasp much training. (But they are so cute!) In another
month, 16 weeks old, they can learn all kinds of things. They are old enough and have physically matured enough that they
can be reliably house-trained and can even start some very basic obedience training. They have a grasp of the outdoors and staying clean that they just physically cannot have as tiny ones. Their age and size make them considerably less fragile
- thereby making them the ideal choice for a family with young children.
At 16 weeks, pretty much what you see
is what you get. Your pup may get a little bigger and fill out some, but you can really determine their head shape and body
structure by then, in addition to getting a pretty good idea of how big they will get. If you are very concerned with size
or conformation, this is the age to buy your pup.
In
the working and hunting breeds, the older pups and dogs are much more costly than the pups. They have been handled &
trained and really have a clue about what we expect from them. In the pet world, many people have just the opposite idea -
that you want to buy a tiny, cuddly little pup. There is a lot to be said for tiny pups, but I think that the older pups are more
predictable, for all the reasons mentioned above.
If
you want a pup ready to go, ready to love and ready to learn, get an older pup!

Prices Our puppy
prices vary according to size, age and sex. There is a great deal of effort & financial investment involved in raising
these pups in our home. They are inside, in my office and our home from birth until the time they come to you. We do a lot
of genetic homework to be sure that you have the healthiest, most sound puppy possible, thereby ensuring you with a long-lived,
happy companion for, we hope, 15-20 years, depending of course, on how you care for your pup.
So, keeping this
in mind, before you call or email us, we want to be sure that you understand that these puppies are NOT puppy mill quality
puppies, they are NOT pet store quality puppies and they are NOT backyard breeder quality puppies. Now that we have told you
that, you will not be surprised to hear that they are NOT cheap. With our 1 yr guarantee, shots, deworming, and excellent
genetic background, you would not expect them to be, would you? Of course not! So please, if you're looking for a puppy
for $300, you need to understand that we won't have anything for you here at Stoney Hollow.
Most of our puppies
are priced at $850-900 for toys between 10-11" at the shoulder and $1,000 for silver minis from 11" - 15".
While we do not breed for them, we occassionally have very small toy pups (what some might call tiny toys and teacups).
These little ones are a tremendous effort to raise successfully because of their tiny size, and we put a lot of extra effort into their care to be sure they are healthy before going to just the right,
careful, loving home for them. They are priced accordingly, usually around $1,500. There is a great
demand for all sizes of our pups, especially girls, so if you want a Stoney Hollow Puppy, you usually need to move pretty
fast. We do not maintain a waiting list, but you are welcome to watch the website or give us a call to check on expected
puppies. We do not have puppies available all the time and we never have enough puppies for all the people who would like
one!
Shipping by air is becoming more and more expensive everyday. Our pups fly out of Roanoke, VA, which is serviced
only by Delta. It costs approximately $325 to ship a puppy anywhere in the Continential U.S. - this includes not only the
fare, but the new shipping crate, the vet bill for the health certificate, etc. If you are within any kind of reasonable driving
distance, we suggest you drive up to get the pup. It is much, much better for the puppy and usually a great deal less expensive.
Plus, we get to meet each other!
Please call us for current prices & shipping rates.

Deposits are needed to hold a puppy that you'd like to have join your family. A deposit is good faith
money saying that you definately want the puppy. The deposit holds your puppy, and guarantees that it can not be purchased
by anyone else. Once we make the verbal (or email) agreement that you definitely want the pup, I will hold it in
good faith for you for one week until your deposit arrives.
I will never sell your pup to anyone else within this
time, as that would not be fair to you. For many reasons, occassionally a person may not be able to follow through with
the purchase. Because this causes much inconvienence on my part, I do not refund deposits. In other words,
if I cannot provide the healthy, happy pup you expected, you get your refund back. If you change your mind, get a different
puppy or whatever, your deposit is not refundable. I
require a $300 deposit, mailed to me in the form of a money order or sent through PayPal (see the PayPal button below). Please
feel free to email or call me if you have questions about any of this.
